Made-to-measure blackout double pleated blinds are compact, refined and especially easy to use. They offer a stylish solution for almost any room and fit perfectly with nearly every rectangular window.
For the bedroom or any other space where you want to reduce light entry as much as possible, double pleated blinds are an excellent choice. They are also a very practical option for skylights.
These blackout pleated blinds feature a double fabric layer that blocks sunlight as much as possible. Because of this double structure, the punch holes are no longer visible, which helps reduce incoming light significantly. This gives you more comfort, more calm and better sleep quality.

Frequently asked questions
A blackout double pleated blind has a honeycomb structure with two layers of fabric, while a standard pleated blind usually consists of one pleated fabric layer. Because of this double structure, the cords are hidden and the blind offers better blackout performance and additional insulation. That allows it to combine more comfort with a cleaner finish.
Yes, blackout double pleated blinds are very suitable for bedrooms. Thanks to their double fabric structure, they help reduce outside light significantly and provide extra privacy. That makes them a popular choice for bedrooms, children’s rooms and other spaces where comfort and darkening are important.
Yes, the double honeycomb structure creates an additional insulating air layer between the window and the room. This means blackout double pleated blinds can help reduce heat from outside in summer and keep warmth inside during winter. That makes them useful not only for darkening, but also for additional comfort in the home.
A blackout double pleated fabric blocks a large amount of light, but the final level of darkening also depends on the system, the installation and any light gaps around the window. In practice, they are especially useful if you want to create a room that is as dark as possible while still keeping a soft and stylish appearance.
Yes, blackout double pleated blinds can be suitable for tilt-and-turn windows, as long as you choose a system that fits neatly against the window and remains practical in daily use. Especially on windows that are opened or tilted regularly, it is important to look not only at the fabric, but also at the system and mounting method.
Blackout double pleated blinds are generally easy to maintain. You can dust them regularly with a feather duster, a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner on low suction. Avoid aggressive cleaning products and hard rubbing so the fabric and honeycomb structure stay in good condition.
Blackout double pleated blinds are interesting if you want to combine blackout performance with a softer, warmer appearance and additional insulating properties. Their double honeycomb structure gives them a refined and decorative look while also helping improve comfort in the room.
Always read the installation guide before starting. This helps you prepare properly and follow the right steps for a correct installation.
As an online shop, we do not know your specific installation situation. For this reason, screws and wall plugs are not included as standard. The correct fixing materials depend on the surface, the weight and the intended use of the product.
How to measure correctly for made-to-measure window decoration
Always measure carefully and check your dimensions in several places. The dimensions you provide are the finished dimensions that will be produced. We do not make any further corrections afterwards.
1
Inside mounting
Between the window frame or between the walls.
With inside mounting, the system is installed inside the opening. Only the glass surface is covered by the window decoration, so to speak.
Width
Measure the width in 3 places
Measure at the top, in the middle and at the bottom. Use the smallest width as your base measurement.
Subtract 1.5 cm from the smallest width to ensure smooth installation. This does not apply to pleated blinds.
Height
Measure the height in 3 places
Measure on the left, in the middle and on the right. Use the smallest height as your base measurement.
Check the deduction table below to see how much you need to subtract from the smallest height.
Advantage: the system fits neatly inside the window frame and provides better insulation.
Remarks for inside mounting:
Always measure in several places, as walls or window frames are not always perfectly straight.
For inside mounting, always use the smallest measured width and height as your base measurement.
For a tilt-and-turn window, it is important to check whether the window can still open easily.
If the window does not open easily with inside mounting, outside mounting is usually the better option.
When installing a system inside the window frame, such as a tensioned pleated blind, a correction of 1 cm in width is sufficient.
A window frame is often slightly straighter than walls. This gives you 5 mm clearance on each side.

Outside mounting
In front of the window frame, on the wall or against the ceiling.
With outside mounting, the system is installed in front of the window opening. It runs in front of the window frame and can cover the entire frame.
Width
Measure at the top and bottom
Measure the width at the top and at the bottom. Use the largest width as your base measurement.
Then add the desired overlap.
Height
Measure on the left and right
Measure the height on the left and on the right. Use the largest height as your base measurement.
Then add the desired overlap.
Advantage: the window will appear larger and less attractive window frames can be neatly hidden.
Remarks for outside mounting:
Take the desired overlap into account. The more overlap you provide, the better the darkening effect when the system is closed.
For the width, also take the width of your window sill or panelling into account if needed.
For outside mounting, provide enough space for the raised package above your window.
If there is not enough space, the raised package may hang in front of the window.
If you have skirting boards at the bottom, subtract them from the width so that the system fits between them.
Pay attention to protruding elements such as door handles, window handles, skirting boards and window sills.

General measuring rules
Finished dimensions
The dimensions you provide are the finished dimensions that will be produced.
We do not make any further corrections after you have submitted your dimensions.
The height you provide includes the top rail or headbox.
Check the space around the window
Pay attention to protruding elements such as door handles, window handles, skirting boards and window sills.
Always check that the control, headbox, brackets and any side guidance have enough space.
Safety and installation environment
Child Safety
All systems must be installed according to Child Safety guidelines.
The control must be at least 1.5 m from the floor.
The control must always remain under tension.
Each delivery includes special Child Safety brackets to keep the control under tension.
Heat and moisture
Avoid placing systems too close to a heat source, such as a radiator.
Avoid placing systems too close to a water source, such as a tap or shower.
High temperatures or high humidity levels can damage the systems.
Horizontal slats
Mounting and depth
For inside mounting of horizontal blinds, a minimum frame or window depth of 8 cm is required for correct installation of the mounting brackets.
When installing horizontal slats with outside mounting, you can also take the width of the window sill into account for the width and height of the system.
The height of horizontal slats is calculated excluding the brackets.
Side guidance
If you install a horizontal system on a door or tilt-and-turn window, side guidance is recommended.
Side guidance helps the system move less when opening and closing a window or door.
The side guidance or steel wire is fixed at the bottom using brackets.
You can choose between an L-bracket for outside mounting or a flat bracket for inside mounting.
Height and deduction
The height deduction prevents the bottom rail from immediately touching the window sill when closing the slats.
The height of horizontal slats is produced in the open position.
Due to the deduction, there will always be some clearance between the sill and the bottom rail in the open position.
Due to the fixed spacing of the ladder cords, we work with a height tolerance of 4 to 6 mm. We always aim to produce the exact height of your system.
Valance
A valance is a decorative finishing strip in wood, bamboo or PVC, depending on the system.
It is attached to the aluminium headbox using magnets.
For inside mounting, a simple straight valance without side returns is usually recommended.
For outside mounting, a valance with side returns is usually recommended.
A straight valance is standard 4 mm longer than the ordered width.
A longer valance can be produced on request.
A valance with side returns is standard 2 cm longer than the ordered width.
Roller blinds
Fabric and finish
The roller blind fabric is always narrower than the total finished width of your roller blind.
The bottom rail is standard covered with the chosen fabric, unless the fabric does not allow this.
For very thick or very fine fabrics, this is often not possible and the bottom rail is only covered at the front.
Mechanism and control
The standard finish of the mechanism, brackets and chain is white.
A black finish or another colour is possible on request via our customer service.
A metal chain is possible at an additional cost. Please contact our customer service before ordering.
Rolling direction
Our roller blinds roll down at the back as standard.
If you want a reverse-roll system that rolls down in front of the tube, mention this in the comments field in step 2 of the ordering process.
Roman blinds
Mounting
When installing Roman blinds with outside mounting, you can also take the width of the window sill into account for the width and height of the system.
Fabric and lining
The Foggia fabric collection is 80% blackout. If you want 100% blackout, we recommend adding a blackout lining.
All our light-filtering fabrics can be lined with a blackout lining that will provide 100% blackout.
For natural fabrics such as cotton and linen, it is recommended to add a lining to reduce discolouration.
You can find the fabric compositions under the ‘colour specifications’ button. Then click ‘more info’ for the desired fabric.
Sun protection flap
The standard finish includes a sun protection flap that partially helps prevent discolouration.
This finish ensures that the fabric hangs with the back facing the sunlight to protect the front side.
Vertical slats
Height and deduction
We recommend deducting 2 cm in height to prevent the slats from touching the floor or window sill.
If the bottom of the slats is at eye level, a deduction of 1.5 cm is sufficient.
Rail and control
The standard finish of the rail, brackets, cord and chain is white.
The slat weights are standard white, grey or black and are coordinated with the chosen fabric.
If you would like a fully black finish, such as the rail and control, please contact our customer service.
A black rail is always equipped with a wand used to tilt and move the slats.
