Wooden blinds with 50 mm slats are one of the most popular choices within horizontal window decoration. The slats are wide enough to create a warm, luxurious look, while still feeling refined and timeless. This makes 50 mm wooden slats a great choice for medium to large windows in the living room, bedroom, dining room or home office.
The main advantage of this slat width is the balance between style and light control. Because the slats are wider, they create a calmer and less busy look than narrower slats. At the same time, you can easily tilt the slats to reduce outside views, soften direct sunlight or let in more natural daylight.
They work especially well on larger windows and in interiors where natural materials play an important role. Think of a warm living space, a modern country-style interior, a Scandinavian style or a clean, contemporary room where wood adds extra atmosphere.
Because wood is a natural material, we mainly recommend wooden blinds for dry rooms. For humid spaces, aluminium blinds are usually a better choice. Take your time to compare all colours and finishes. To see the quality up close, you can easily request free samples before ordering.

Measure at the top, in the middle and at the bottom. Use the smallest width as your reference measurement.
Width deduction for your system:
Measure on the left, in the middle and on the right. Use the smallest height as your reference measurement.
Height deduction for your system:
Benefit: the blind fits neatly inside the window recess and creates a clean, understated finish.
Measure the width at the top and bottom. Use the largest width as your reference measurement.
Width to add: desired overlap
Add the desired overlap on both the left and right sides to the measured width.

Height to add: desired overlap
Add the desired overlap at both the top and bottom to the measured height.
Benefit: the window appears larger and less attractive window frames can be neatly concealed.
